Riyad Mahrez, Islam Slimani and Marc Albrighton find the net as Leicester City overcome Huddersfield Town 3-0 to end their five-game wait for victory.

Leicester City have returned to winning ways in the Premier League by seeing off Huddersfield Town 3-0 at the King Power Stadium this afternoon.

The Foxes, previously without a victory in their last four outings, picked up the points through second-half goals from Riyad Mahrez, Islam Slimani and Marc Albrighton.

An end to Huddersfield's four-match unbeaten run - their best such streak in the top flight since 1962 - leaves them 11th in the table and now six points behind their opponents.

Leicester started the match brightly and nearly opened the scoring with less than 10 minutes on the clock, only for Jonas Lossl to deny Slimani with a strong hand.

Skipper Wes Morgan hobbled off for the hosts just short of the half-hour mark, but the momentum was still with the hosts as Wilfred Ndidi blasted wide from a good position.

While the first half may have passed by with little incident, the second was all about the quality of Leicester's attacking play as Slimani guided another header on target before his side finally made the breakthrough.

Albrighton managed to hook a half-cleared throw back into the box, and Mahrez drilled it past Lossl to give the Foxes a deserved lead.

Shinji Okazaki thought that he had made it two moments later for Leicester, who are now unbeaten in nine home league games against the Terriers, but the whistle had already been blown for an infringement.

The second goal arrived an hour into the contest, however, with Slimani racing on-to Mahrez's through-ball and producing a fine chipped finish over Lossl.

Having had a penalty shout for handball rejected and hit the crossbar through a Ndidi header, Albrighton was able to round off the scoring late on by slotting home at the back post unmarked at the end of a Demarai Gray cross.

Leicester City (4-4-2): Schmeichel; Amartey, Morgan (Dragovic 28'), Maguire, Fuchs; Albrighton, James (Silva 86'), Ndidi, Mahrez (Gray 77'); Okazaki, Slimani

Huddersfield Town (4-2-3-1): Lossl; Smith (Depoitre 82'), Jorgensen, Schindler, Lowe (Malone 76'); Mooy, Williams, Lolley (Quaner 59'), Ince, Van La Parra; Mounie
