Sports Mole takes an in-depth look at how Manchester City could line up for Saturday's Premier League clash with Burnley.

Manchester City are expected to be without Brazilian pair Ederson and Gabriel Jesus for Saturday's Premier League encounter with Burnley.

The duo are not due to complete their international commitments with the Selecao until the early hours of Friday morning UK time, making it extremely unlikely that they will be available here.

Pep Guardiola has been handed boosts with Ilkay Gundogan and Oleksandr Zinchenko - who have both returned to training - while Benjamin Mendy was recently denied bail for a third time ahead of his impending trial for rape and sexual assault charges.

Zack Steffen will line up in between the sticks in Ederson's absence, while John Stones claimed a confidence-boosting goal for England against Hungary but is unlikely to force his way into the defence over Ruben Dias or Aymeric Laporte.

Guardiola must also take the midweek trip to Club Brugge in the Champions League into account, but Kyle Walker and Joao Cancelo's spots in defence should be safe for now.

Rodri and Kevin De Bruyne are indispensable in the hosts' midfield, while Phil Foden could complete the triumvirate as Bernardo Silva moves further forward in the absence of Ferran Torres.

With Jesus out of contention, Riyad Mahrez ought to earn a start on the right-hand side as Jack Grealish features on the left, while Torres scored both of Spain's goals in their Nations League semi-final win over Euro 2020 winners Italy but has been ruled out with a fractured foot.

Man City possible starting lineup: Steffen; Walker, Dias, Laporte, Cancelo; De Bruyne, Rodri, Foden; Mahrez, Silva, Grealish
