Monday's Championship predictions including Burnley vs. Sheffield United

Sports Mole provides score predictions and previews for all of today's Championship fixtures, including Burnley vs. Sheffield United.

Huddersfield vs. Blackburn (Monday, 12.30pm)

Huddersfield Town play host to Blackburn Rovers on Easter Monday looking to build on moving outside of the Championship relegation zone for the first time since August.

Meanwhile, Blackburn make the trip to the John Smith's Stadium holding just a one-point advantage in the race for the playoffs.

We say: Huddersfield Town 1-1 Blackburn Rovers

Given their recent contrasting results, there is a strong argument that Huddersfield are the favourites to win this fixture. Nevertheless, we cannot ignore Blackburn's need to get back on track, the feeling being that they will do enough to earn a share of the spoils in a competitive match.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 1.5 goals.

Birmingham vs. Stoke (Monday, 3.00pm)

Birmingham City and Stoke City square off in the Championship on Easter Monday each looking for the win which would realistically secure their Championship status for another season.

The teams occupy 16th and 14th position in the standings respectively after recent improved runs of form at the second tier.

We say: Birmingham City 1-2 Stoke City

With the pressure off each of these teams to a certain extent, any result is possible. For us, though, Stoke's superior goal threat should prove pivotal, and we are backing the Potters to extend their excellent run of form on their travels.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

Cardiff vs. Sunderland (Monday, 3.00pm)

Two teams with plenty to fight for at this stage of the campaign will lock horns in the Championship on Monday afternoon, with Cardiff City welcoming Sunderland to Wales.

The home side are currently 19th in the table, just one point ahead of the relegation zone, while Sunderland occupy 11th, six points behind the playoff positions in the second tier.

We say: Cardiff City 2-2 Sunderland

This has all of the makings of a very entertaining match, as both sides are in desperate need of the win. Sunderland will be the favourites, but Cardiff were excellent at Blackpool last time out, so we can see the Welsh team securing a share of the spoils here.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

Coventry vs. Watford (Monday, 3.00pm)

Two teams still looking to navigate their way into the Championship playoffs in the closing stages of the season will meet on Monday afternoon, with Coventry City welcoming Watford.

Coventry are currently ninth in the table, just three points behind sixth-placed Blackburn Rovers, while Watford are 12th, six points off the playoffs with six matches left.

We say: Coventry City 1-2 Watford

Recent form does not favour Watford, but we just have a feeling for the Hornets here. Coventry will be looking for the win to boost their own playoff ambitions, which could create space for the visitors, who have enough quality to secure what would be a huge three points in this contest.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

Hull City vs. Millwall (Monday, 3.00pm)

Millwall's Tom Bradshaw celebrates scoring their first goal on February 21, 2023© Reuters

Millwall will be bidding to strengthen their Championship playoff hopes when they make the trip to Hull City on Monday afternoon.

The visitors are currently fifth in the table, two points clear of seventh-placed Norwich City, while Hull occupy 17th, eight points clear of the relegation zone heading into the next set of fixtures.

We say: Hull City 1-1 Millwall

The points were shared in a goalless draw when the two sides locked horns earlier this season, and we can see another stalemate in this match. Millwall need to win to boost their playoff hopes, but Hull have only lost once in the Championship since the end of February.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

Luton vs. Blackpool (Monday, 3.00pm)

Luton Town are 20 places ahead of Blackpool in the Championship table heading into Monday's encounter at Kenilworth Road.

The Hatters could only draw in Friday's playoff head-to-head against Millwall, while the relegation-threatened Lancashire club were beaten 3-1 by Cardiff City at Bloomfield Road.

We say: Luton Town 1-0 Blackpool

Luton are expected to record another slender home victory against an injury-ravaged opponent to claim a fourth straight win at Kenilworth Road.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

Norwich vs. Rotherham (Monday, 3.00pm)

Playoff-chasing Norwich City returned to winning ways in the Championship on Good Friday, as did Rotherham United heading into Easter Monday's meeting at Carrow Road.

Both sides are separated by 11 places in the table following their recent dips in performances and results.

We say: Norwich City 2-1 Rotherham United

The Canaries are expected to win this one despite injuries at the back and a two-game losing run at Carrow Road.

Rotherham's uninspiring road results make them outsiders for this one, with 11 goals from 20 games far from convincing in front of goal.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

Preston vs. Reading (Monday, 3.00pm)

Preston North End manager Ryan Lowe reacts on April 1, 2023© Reuters

Preston North End take on Reading at Deepdale on Monday afternoon, and the hosts will be looking to continue their fantastic recent form.

PNE are now up to eighth place, within reach of the playoff places, while the visitors are in 21st, having been deducted six points for breaking the EFL's financial rules.

We say: Preston North End 2-0 Reading

Preston North End have been on a fantastic recent run of form, and although they have struggled at home for large parts of the campaign, the victory against rivals Blackpool in their last game here should be a morale-boosting result.

Not only that, but Reading have been very poor away from home all season, and we cannot see that changing against a side in playoff contention, with the likely result being a comfortable home win.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

West Brom vs. QPR (Monday, 3.00pm)

With their playoff hopes continuing to fade, West Bromwich Albion return to The Hawthorns to tackle relegation-threatened Queens Park Rangers in the Championship on Monday evening.

Carlos Corberan's men were seen off 3-1 by Rotherham United last time out, while their visitors' Good Friday ended in misery with a 2-0 loss to Preston North End.

We say: West Bromwich Albion 2-0 Queens Park Rangers

West Brom may have travelled home from Rotherham with their tails between their legs, but the stage is set for the home specialists to reignite their playoff push on Easter Monday.

With the Baggies proving near-impenetrable at home, a QPR side lacking in inspiration at both ends of the field should be swept aside with relative ease.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

Wigan vs. Swansea (Monday, 3.00pm)

Basement-dwelling Wigan Athletic continue their unenviable survival task in the Championship when they host mid-table Swansea City on Easter Monday.

The Latics' Good Friday fixture with Sheffield United ended in a 1-0 defeat, while the net did not ripple once in Swansea's goalless stalemate with Coventry City.

We say: Wigan Athletic 1-1 Swansea City

The DW turf has been kind to Wigan in recent memory, and a Swansea side who do not tend to travel well cannot be expected to carve the Championship's basement team open at will.

Finding a golden touch up front has been a fruitless task for the Latics, though, and while the victory they crave might not materialise, Maloney's side can hope to claim a hard-earned point.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

Bristol City vs. Middlesbrough (Monday, 5.30pm)

Having been on opposite ends of 2-1 scorelines on Good Friday, mid-table Bristol City and promotion-chasing Middlesbrough face off in Monday's Championship battle at Ashton Gate.

The Robins came from behind to prevail against Stoke City last time out, while Michael Carrick's men went down to Premier League-bound Burnley.

We say: Bristol City 1-2 Middlesbrough

Despite losing their defensive acumen in recent matches, Middlesbrough never need any lessons in breaking down the opposition, and an injury-hit Bristol City side should strap in for a rough ride against the vengeful Boro.

The Robins' penchant for goals at Ashton Gate will serve them well, but we still have faith in Carrick's men to get their promotion charge back on track and deal Pearson's side their first Championship home defeat of 2023.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

Burnley vs. Sheff Utd (Monday, 8.00pm)

Still basking in the glory of an immediate return to the Premier League, Burnley cut the celebrations short to host second-placed Sheffield United in Easter Monday's top-of-the-table Championship outing.

A 2-1 win at Middlesbrough sealed the Clarets' promotion back to the big time on Friday evening, while the Blades cemented themselves in the runners-up spot with a 1-0 success over Wigan Athletic.

We say: Burnley 1-1 Sheffield United

A repeat of the 5-2 humiliation would not go amiss for those in red and white, who may arguably be taking on Burnley at the perfect time as the Lancashire celebrations remain in full swing.

Kompany will not allow a shred of complacency to creep in from his players, though, and we have ultimately had to settle on a low-scoring draw in this headline matchup.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 1.5 goals.
