Result: Celta Vigo take charge of last-16 Copa del Rey tie

John Guidetti scores twice as Celta Vigo record a 3-0 win over Cadiz in the first leg of their last-16 clash in the Copa del Rey on Wednesday.

Celta Vigo have put one foot in the quarter-finals of the Copa del Rey after beating Segunda B team Cadiz 3-0 in the first leg of their last-16 clash on Thursday.

The La Liga outfit handed former Manchester City striker John Guidetti a rare chance to impress and the Swede responded with two goals in the away win.

Guidetti's first came in the 25th minute after smart work from Fabian Orellana, before Celta put daylight between themselves and Cadiz with a second in the 58th minute - Jonny converting from close range after Levy Madinda had deceived the Cadiz defence.

Celta were not finished, however, and scored a third in the 79th minute through Guidetti to make them strong favourites ahead of the second leg next week.

Cadiz, who only booked their spot at this stage of the competition after Real Madrid were expelled for fielding an ineligible player in the last round, only had one shot on target at Ramon de Carranza.
