Copa del Rey roundup: Valencia secure comeback win over Barakaldo

Sports Mole rounds up all the action from first leg matches in the last-32 round of the Copa del Rey.

Valencia battled back to defeat third division outfit Barakaldo 3-1 in the first leg of their Copa del Rey clash under the charge of caretaker boss Voro and assistant Phil Neville.

The home team went ahead in the 16th minute through Alain Arroyo, but the visitors hit back three minutes later when Joao Cancelo found the net.

Jose Gaya put Valencia ahead in the second half when he latched on to Paco Alcacer's pass and found the bottom corner with a low drive.

Valencia were handed the chance to extend their lead in stoppage time when Enzo Perez was brought down in the box by keeper Jaume Valens, who was sent off. Daniel Parejo took the spot kick and placed his strike into the net to hand his team control of the tie.

A brace from Iago Aspas fired Celta Vigo to a 3-1 victory over Almeria to hand them control of their tie.

Aspas found the net in the 16th minute when he raided into the final third and found the bottom corner, and he notched his second goal in similar fashion in the 35th minute.

Jose Pozo got Almeria back into the match just before the break, only for John Guidetti secure the win for the visitors in the 73rd minute.

Sevilla put in a dominant display to defeat UD Logrones 3-0 in their encounter at the Estadio Las Gaunas.

Coke latched on to a pass from Michael Krohn-Dehli before slotting his effort into the net, while the Dane doubled his side's lead with a neat finish in the 38th minute.

Unai Emery's men notched their third goal in the 57th minute through Ciro Immobile to put them in a commanding position ahead of the second leg.

Deportivo La Coruna came from behind to beat Llagostera 2-1 in their contest, despite being reduced to 10 men in the second half.

The home side took the lead as Juanjo held his composure to fire his effort into net in the 22nd minute, and the second-tier outfit held the advantage until the second half when Federico Cartabia equalised.

Deportivo were then reduced to 10 men when Luisinho was sent off for his second bookable offence. However, Faycal Fajr then teed up Oriol Riera to send his effort into the net, which was enough for the victory.

Rayo Vallecano eased past Getafe to secure a 2-0 victory in the first leg of their match at the Campo de Futbol de Vallecas.

Lass Bangoura put Vallecano ahead in the sixth minute, and their lead was doubled 22 minutes later when Patrick Ebert collected a pass from Bebe to drill his effort into the bottom corner.

The home side shut Getafe out in the second half to take the two-goal advantage into the second leg.

Second-half strikes from Alvaro Vadillo and Juan Vargas handed Real Betis a 2-0 victory over their La Liga rivals Sporting Gijon.

Neither side were able to break the deadlock in the first half at the Estadio Benito Villamarin, but Vadillo found the net in the 48th minute.

The match looked to be ending 1-0 until Vargas struck an important goal in the context of the tie to hand Betis a two-goal advantage heading into the return leg.

Copa del Rey results in full (half-time scores in brackets): Almeria 1-3 Celta Vigo (1-2), Barakaldo 1-3 Valencia (1-1), Real Betis 2-0 Sporting Gijon (0-0), Llagostera 1-2 Deportivo La Coruna (1-0), UD Logrones 0-3 Sevilla (0-2), Rayo Vallecano 2-0 Getafe (2-0)
