Middlesbrough centre-back Ben Gibson has attracted interest from as many as six Premier League clubs, according to a report.

Middlesbrough have reportedly upped the asking price for defender Ben Gibson to £25m due to a flurry of interest from Premier League sides.

The 24-year-old is expected to return to the top flight ahead of the 2017-18 season after seeing his reputation remain intact despite relegation to the Championship last term.

Gibson has already been linked with a few different sides this summer, but TEAMtalk claims that half a dozen are now in the running for the former England Under-21s international, who has spent his entire career to date at the Riverside Stadium.

Last season's champions and runners-up, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur respectively, are both rumoured to have made enquiries, while Everton, Leicester City, Southampton and Stoke City have also been touted as possible destinations.

New Middlesbrough boss Garry Monk admitted upon taking the job that keeping Gibson at the club is among his priorities, but the player himself is keen on playing in the top flight.
