A report claims that Swansea City will only entertain offers of at least £40m for midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson, with a number of clubs said to have shown an interest.

Swansea City are reportedly unwilling to listen to any bids below the £40m mark for in-demand midfield playmaker Gylfi Sigurdsson.

The Iceland international has been linked with several clubs this summer, including both Everton and former club Tottenham Hotspur.

Sigurdsson, who finished last season with the second-highest number of assists in the Premier League, has given no indication that he wants to leave South Wales for a second time.

This, coupled with the fact that the former Reading ace still has three years to run on his current deal, means that Swansea are not prepared to entertain any offers that fall short of their asking price.

According to the Leicester Mercury, recently-dethroned champions Leicester City are the latest side to have joined the hunt to sign Sigurdsson, but even a £40m bid may be knocked back.

Leicester are themselves playing hardball over wantaway winger Riyad Mahrez, who revealed at the end of the season that he wants to leave.
