Bayer Leverkusen striker Javier Hernandez could be on his way back to the Premier League, with London rivals West Ham United and Tottenham Hotspur both reportedly keen.

West Ham United and Tottenham Hotspur will attempt to bring Javier Hernandez back to the Premier League this summer, according to a report.

The London rivals are said to be battling it out to land the Mexico international, who is now into the final 12 months of his Bayer Leverkusen contract.

French club Lyon are rumoured to have already offered £10.5m, but German newspaper Bild claims that West Ham and Spurs have now entered the race.

Hernandez, who proved a big hit at Manchester United during his five years at the club, is currently on international duty with Mexico at the Confederations Cup.

The same publication suggests that the 29-year-old has a £13.2m release clause written into his Leverkusen deal, which both the Hammers and Tottenham are willing to pay.
