Coventry City are reportedly offered a compensation fee of just short of £500,000 by Leicester City for youngster George Thomas.

Leicester City have offered a sum of around £500,000 for Coventry City youngster George Thomas, according to a report.

The 20-year-old is said to be on the radar of a quartet of Premier League clubs following a string of impressive displays for the Sky Blues last term.

It was claimed earlier this week that Swansea City led the way for the Wales Under-20s international, but Sky Sports News reports that Leicester have become the first to make an official approach.

Thomas, who scored the winning goal for Coventry in their EFL Trophy final victory over Oxford United in April, is officially out of contract at the Ricoh Arena.

The League Two club will receive compensation for the starlet, however, with Leicester prepared to hand over just short of £500,000.
