Fiji international Josh Matavesi signs a new three-year contract with Welsh outfit Ospreys.

Ospreys have announced that Josh Matavesi has signed a new contract with the club.

The Fijian joined the Welsh outfit last summer and went on to make 29 appearances during his debut campaign.

His previous deal still had 12 months left to run before it expired, but Matavesi has now committed himself to the Liberty Stadium until 2018.

"It was an easy decision. I enjoyed my rugby last season, my family are happy and settled here, so committing my future to the Ospreys was the right thing to do," he told the club's official website.

"We love it here. We've settled in well, my daughter is in school now. She's happy and that's important when making any decision like this.

"I feel that I've grown in this environment, which is geared to improving players, and I think that I can continue to develop here."

The 24-year-old is currently with the Fiji squad that is competing at the Rugby World Cup.
