Wales have called up Eli Walker to their Rugby World Cup squad as a replacement for the injured Liam Williams.

The back-line player was ruled out of the remainder of the tournament at the weekend after suffering a foot injury in Wales' 15-6 defeat to Australia on Saturday.

Williams was the 10th player to have succumbed to injury during or in the run-up to the World Cup, but it has been confirmed that Walker will take his place.

The Ospreys winger was named in Warren Gatland's original squad, but was forced to withdraw before the tournament began due to a hamstring injury.

It is unclear whether Walker, who was selected ahead of Rhys Patchell, will be 100% fit for this Saturday's quarter-final against South Africa at Twickenham.
