Cristiano Ronaldo is confident that he can help Manchester United challenge for the biggest trophies once again.

Cristiano Ronaldo is confident that he can help Manchester United win again following his return to Old Trafford in the final stages of the summer transfer window.

The Portugal international re-signed for the Red Devils from Juventus last month and is in line to make his second debut for the club against Newcastle United in the Premier League on Saturday.

Ronaldo has insisted that he has not returned to Old Trafford "for a vacation" and is targeting more success during his second spell with the 20-time English champions.

"This is why I am here (to win)," Ronaldo told Man United's official website. "I am not here for a vacation. As I told you, before was good, winning important things and I wore the shirt before many years ago, but I am here to win again.

"I am capable, me and my teammates. I am ready to go, I am ready to go. It is a good chance for me, for the supporters, for the club, to get one step ahead. I am ready and I think I will be a huge thing in the next three or four years."

The 36-year-old, who has penned a two-year deal with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side, scored 118 goals and registered 69 assists in 292 appearances for Man United between 2003 and 2009.
