Manchester United will be looking to avoid an unwanted Premier League record when they welcome Arsenal to Old Trafford on Thursday night.

The Red Devils are currently enduring a poor run of form across all competitions, winning only four of their last 13 matches.

In the Premier League alone, United have picked up just five points from their last eight games – winning once, drawing twice and losing five in the process – the fewest that they have ever accumulated over an eight-game period in the top-flight.

The Theatre of Dreams has not lived up to its nickname over the last three league matches, as the Red Devils have suffered embarrassing defeats against rivals Liverpool and Manchester City as well as drawing 1-1 against Everton.

Each of the last eight Premier League goals at Old Trafford have been scored against Manchester United – the 20-time top-flight champions have never previously conceded nine successive goals on home soil in the competition's history without replying themselves.

The last time that United had a run of eight home goals conceded without scoring in between was from February to March 2014.

Michael Carrick's side, soon to be taken over by newly-appointed interim boss Ralf Rangnick, head into Thursday's clash 10th in the Premier League table, six points behind West Ham United in fourth.
