Saturday's Championship predictions including West Brom vs. Middlesbrough

Sports Mole provides score predictions for all of Saturday's Championship games, including West Bromwich Albion vs. Middlesbrough.

Bournemouth vs. Swansea (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Championship leaders Bournemouth will be aiming to bounce back from their first league defeat of the season when they host Swansea City.

The Cherries were beaten by Preston North End on Wednesday but still have a two-point lead at the top of the table, while the Swans currently sit 11th.

We say: Bournemouth 1-1 Swansea City

It will be interesting to see how Bournemouth react to their first defeat, particularly against an in-form Swansea side. The Cherries have actually looked slightly less solid at home than away this season and we think they could drop points again in a draw.

Our tipster partners are predicting a home win.

Barnsley vs. Hull City (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Barnsley's Aaron Leya Iseka celebrates scoring their second goal on October 24, 2021© Reuters

There is a crunch meeting between two Yorkshire-based Championship strugglers on Saturday as Barnsley host Hull City.

The Tykes are currently managerless and sit 22nd in the table, a point from safety, while the Tigers are two points behind them in 23rd.

We say: Barnsley 1-0 Hull City

Barnsley's midweek win will have given them a huge confidence boost and while McCann was right to say that Hull did show signs of promise against West Brom, the Tigers' attacking woes could cost them once again.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 1.5 goals.

Birmingham vs. Reading (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Two sides on contrasting runs of form meet in the Championship on Saturday as Birmingham City host Reading.

The Blues have won three games in a row and sit 13th, three points ahead of the Royals in 18th who have lost their last four.

We say: Birmingham City 1-0 Reading

We expect both teams to continue their respective veins of form. Birmingham are looking increasingly dangerous with Hogan and Troy Deeney forming a strong partnership upfront, while Reading's injury crisis leaves them very vulnerable.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 1.5 goals.

Blackburn vs. Sheff Utd (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Blackburn Rovers play host to Sheffield United on Saturday afternoon looking to bounce back from their demoralising 7-0 defeat to Fulham earlier this week.

The Blades travel to their 12th-placed opponents on the back of claiming a point at Nottingham Forest, a result which has left them in 16th position in the Championship standings.

We say: Blackburn Rovers 1-1 Sheffield United

Neither team will want to head into the international break on the back of another defeat, and that could lead to a low-scoring game. While the visitors are more in need of maximum points, we expect Blackburn to claim a share of the spoils.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

Cardiff vs. Huddersfield (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Relegation-threatened Cardiff City are in desperate need of a win as they prepare to take on promotion-chasing Huddersfield Town in South Wales on Saturday afternoon.

The Bluebirds are now just one point clear of the bottom three, while Huddersfield enter the midweek round of fixtures level on points with the top six.

We say: Cardiff City 1-1 Huddersfield Town

Huddersfield have been in far better form than Cardiff this season and will be looking to inflict a seventh successive home defeat on their opponents.

However, the Terriers do not have the best of records against City, especially at the Cardiff City Stadium where they are winless in seven attempts, so we are backing a draw here.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 2.5 goals.

Coventry vs. Bristol City (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Coventry City welcome Bristol City to the Ricoh Arena on Saturday afternoon looking for the victory which would keep them in the top six of the Championship standings.

Meanwhile, the Robins head into this fixture on the back of four defeats in five games, a run of form which has left the visitors down in 19th position.

We say: Coventry City 2-1 Bristol City

To a certain degree, Bristol City may as well throw caution to the wind against opponents with such a strong home record. Nevertheless, while that may benefit them during periods of the game, we still expect Coventry to prevail with maximum points.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

Luton vs. Stoke (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Luton Town will host Stoke City in the Championship on Saturday afternoon with both sides looking to build on midweek victories with another three points.

The Hatters are unbeaten in their last six league games on home soil, while the Potters last tasted defeat at Kenilworth Road back in February 2000.

We say: Luton Town 1-1 Stoke City

Both sides head into this encounter off the back of impressive victories in midweek and will be keen to claim another three points on Saturday, as they aim to finish inside the top six before the international break.

However, with little to separate these two teams, a score draw could be on the cards at Kenilworth Road.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 1.5 goals.

Millwall vs. Derby (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Seeking their third successive home victory in the Championship, Millwall welcome basement club Derby County to The Den on Saturday afternoon.

The Rams, meanwhile, are searching for just their fourth league win of the campaign and their first since beating Reading in September.

We say: Millwall 1-0 Derby County

Each of the last four games involving Derby have seen both teams score, however we are expecting a low-scoring cagey affair at The Den.

Considering the form of both sides heading into Saturday's match, the hosts should be able to do enough to edge out the Rams on home soil.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 1.5 goals.

Nott'm Forest vs. Preston (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Nottingham Forest's head coach Steve Cooper on October 19, 2021© Reuters

Nottingham Forest head into Saturday's fixture with Preston North End looking to record their first win in four Championship fixtures.

However, Preston make the trip to the City Ground on the back of ending the long unbeaten run of leaders Bournemouth earlier this week.

We say: Nottingham Forest 2-1 Preston North End

While Preston will be on a high after their visit to the South coast, it remains to be seen how much that performance took out of them. With that in mind, we are backing Forest to use their home advantage to edge this contest in the closing stages.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

Peterborough vs. Fulham (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Rampant Fulham will be aiming to keep their superb Championship form going when they travel to Peterborough United on Saturday afternoon.

The Cottagers have won five in a row and occupy an automatic promotion spot, while Peterborough are four points clear of the relegation zone.

We say: Peterborough United 0-3 Fulham

Fulham have won their last five matches by a 20-1 aggregate scoreline and enter this game as strong favourites to pick up another victory.

Peterborough may have lost only one of their last four games, but we cannot see beyond a routine away victory at the Weston Homes Stadium.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

West Brom vs. Middlesbrough (Saturday, 3.00pm)

West Bromwich Albion play host to Middlesbrough on Saturday afternoon looking to keep the pressure on the top two in the Championship standings.

Meanwhile, Boro have dropped down to 14th position over the past week, a consequence of suffering two defeats in succession.

We say: West Bromwich Albion 2-1 Middlesbrough

Given the inconsistencies of these two teams, there is a feeling that anything could happen on Saturday afternoon. However, we can only back another home win for the Baggies, potentially by the odd goal in three.

Our tipster partners are predicting a home win.

Blackpool vs. QPR (Saturday, 5.30pm)

Blackpool's Gary Madine celebrates scoring his side's second goal on October 23, 2021© Reuters

Championship playoff contenders Blackpool and Queens Park Rangers meet in league action for the first time since 2014 on Saturday afternoon.

Only one point currently separates the Tangerines in 10th and the Hoops in fifth in the table – reflecting just how tight the battle for the top six is at the moment.

We say: Blackpool 1-1 Queens Park Rangers

As the league table suggests, there is very little to separate these two clubs. While QPR were the team to win in midweek, they only just edged past a struggling Cardiff side, while Blackpool were unfortunate to be narrowly beaten by Stoke. Another tight match is in store and one which we think will end level.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 2.5 goals.
