Robert Lewandowski: 'Poland will fight on Tuesday'

Robert Lewandowski insists that Poland will put up a fight against England on Tuesday despite having no chance of reaching the World Cup finals.

Robert Lewandowski has insisted that Poland will come to Wembley to win on Tuesday despite having no chance of qualifying for the World Cup.

Defeat in Ukraine on Friday, coupled with England's win over Montenegro, left the Poles five points adrift of second place in Group H with just one game to play.

On the other hand, England have plenty to play for as they know that they virtually have to win to top the group and guarantee automatic qualification to Brazil, with second-placed Ukraine facing minnows San Marino.

Thousands of Polish fans are still expected at Wembley and Borussia Dortmund frontman Lewandowski believes that they should have fun.

He told reporters: "We know we have a lot of fans out there who will come to the game.

"We don't stand a chance of going through, but we want to go to Wembley and at least allow our supporters a little fun. For sure we won't be favourites."

Lewandowski will switch clubs at the end of the current season after announcing that he will sign a pre-contract with European champions Bayern Munich in January.
