Montreal Impact, Orlando City serve up thrilling MLS draw

Montreal Impact draw 2-2 with Orlando City in the MLS, with all four goals coming in the first half.

Orlando City drew with Montreal Impact 2-2 after an exciting first half in their MLS contest.

Montreal took an early lead, but three goals in three minutes lit up the match after half an hour.

Impact went ahead in the 14th minute when former Preston North End and Leicester City defender Sean St Ledger committed a foul in the penalty area, and Ignacio Piatti placed the spot kick into the bottom-right corner.

Kaka saw two shots blocked in the 23rd minute, before the match saw three goals scored in as many minutes.

First, Jack McInerney lobbed Orlando goalkeeper Donovan Ricketts from the edge of the penalty area to double Montreal's lead in the 27th minute, but Pedro Ribeiro pulled a goal back 60 seconds later.

Kaka then scored his second goal of the season, after an assist from Ribeiro, to level the scores.

Both teams had chances to score in the second half, with Amobi Okugo and Ribeiro shooting off target and Montreal's Dominic Oguro seeing two of his efforts blocked.

Piatti's shot from outside of the penalty area was stopped by Ricketts's diving save with five minutes remaining as the two sides settled for a point.
