Manchester United welcome Scott McTominay and Alex Telles back to training ahead of Saturday's Premier League clash with Newcastle United.

Manchester United have been boosted by the returns of Scott McTominay and Alex Telles to the training pitches as the international break draws to a close.

The Red Devils announced last month that McTominay would be forced to undergo surgery on a groin injury, which ruled him out of Scotland's September World Cup 2022 qualifiers.

Meanwhile, Telles has been sidelined ever since sustaining an ankle injury during pre-season training, and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer previously affirmed that the left-back would miss the whole of August.

However, an update on manutd.com confirmed that both players have been put through their paces on the training pitches, but their participation in Saturday's clash against Newcastle United is still up in the air.

The duo's return to fitness leaves Marcus Rashford and Phil Jones in the treatment room, while Jadon Sancho was forced to withdraw from the England camp with a knock before their 4-0 thrashing of Andorra but could shake off the issue in time for the weekend.

Dean Henderson has also returned to training following his lengthy battle with COVID-19, while Cristiano Ronaldo could reportedly link up with his teammates on Thursday.
