Sports Mole looks at Casemiro's record against Sevilla ahead of Manchester United's trip to Estadio Ramon in the Europa League.

Manchester United will be aiming to book their spot in the semi-finals of the Europa League when they travel to Sevilla for the second leg of their quarter-final on Thursday night.

The tie is delicately poised following a 2-2 draw at Old Trafford last week, with Sevilla coming from two goals behind to level the scores in the latter stages.

Man United have only faced Sevilla on four occasions during their history, but in Casemiro, the Red Devils have a player who became used to taking on the club during his time at Real Madrid.

The 31-year-old is set to start in the middle of the away team's midfield on Thursday, and with that in mind, Sports Mole takes a look at how the Brazil international has performed against Los Nervionenses during his professional career.

Casemiro has faced Sevilla on 16 occasions during his professional career, boasting a record of nine wins, three draws and four defeats against them, scoring three times and contributing two assists.

As expected, the bulk of the midfielder's outings against Sevilla came in La Liga, winning seven, drawing one and losing four of his 12 matches versus the Seville outfit in Spain's top flight.

The Brazilian has also taken on Rojiblancos in the UEFA Super Cup, helping Real Madrid record a 3-2 victory in the competition during the 2016-17 campaign.

Meanwhile, he played the full 90 minutes of the 2-2 draw in the first leg at Old Trafford last week, returning to the starting XI after serving a four-game domestic suspension.

Casemiro has also tackled Sevilla on two occasions in the Copa del Rey, helping Real Madrid record a 6-3 aggregate victory in the last-16 stage of the 2016-17 competition.

In terms of his record at Estadio Ramon, the midfielder suffered four losses at the stadium during his time in the Spanish capital, recording only two victories in the process.

All three of his goals against Sevilla came in La Liga, netting once in a 2-0 Real Madrid win at Bernabeu in 2019 before hitting a brace during the next campaign at the famous stadium.

Casemiro's experience of facing Los Nervionenses could be crucial on Thursday, but he will be fully aware of the size of the task facing his Man United side in the second leg of the quarter-final.
