Liverpool will aim to win a top-flight game by at least four goals for the third time on the bounce - equalling a 34-year-old record - when Aston Villa visit Anfield.

Liverpool will be out to equal a 34-year-old club record when they welcome Aston Villa to Anfield for Saturday's Premier League clash.

The Reds' 2-1 victory over AC Milan at San Siro in midweek marked their sixth win in a row across all competitions and saw them become the first English team ever to win all six group games in a single Champions League campaign.

Jurgen Klopp has also steered his side to successive 4-0 wins in the top flight at Anfield, firstly seeing off Arsenal with ease before putting four unanswered goals past Southampton.

Should Liverpool prevail by at least four goals once more this weekend, it will mark the first time since October 1987 that they have won three top-flight home games on the bounce by such a margin.

Kenny Dalglish's side previously did so against Derby County, Portsmouth and Queens Park Rangers in the 1987-88 season, with Liverpool going on to capture the First Division title.

However, the Reds have been dealt a blow with the news that Diogo Jota is doubtful for the visit of Steven Gerrard's men due to injury.
