New Las Palmas boss Quique Setien has revealed that he is looking forward to taking on the "exciting challenge" of coaching the Yellows.
Setien, 57, who was previously in charge of Segunda side Lugo, was appointed as the La Liga outfit's new head coach on Tuesday after Paco Herrera was relieved of his duties.
"After coaching Lugo I decided to go in search of other targets and received a call from Las Palmas. Las Palmas is an historic and important club and it's a step forward in my career. It was very hard to say no," AS quotes Setien as saying.
"I'm a football man and the opportunity the club gives me is a great responsibility. I hope to live up to it. Coaching Las Palmas is an exciting challenge. It's a squad with a lot of possibilities. I hope to have the help of the players in the way I propose football, which is non-negotiable."
Las Palmas, who currently sit 19th in the La Liga table, return to domestic action at home to high-flying Villarreal on Sunday.
