Several board members at Barcelona reportedly ask club president Joan Laporta to sack head coach Ronald Koeman immediately.

Several board members at Barcelona have reportedly asked the club's president Joan Laporta to sack head coach Ronald Koeman immediately.

The Catalan outfit have made an unbeaten start in La Liga so far this season, accumulating seven points from their first three games, though they suffered a 3-0 defeat at home to Bayern Munich in their opening Champions League encounter on Tuesday.

It is understood that Barca have no immediate plans to relived Koeman from his duties at Camp Nou, and are prepared to give the Dutchman more time in the dugout.

However, Catalan news outlet TV3 reports that several representatives of Barcelona's board – which is made up of 18 members – believe now is the right time to sack the 58-year-old and bring in a new manager.

The report also states that Laporta, as well as the club's vice president Rafael Yuste, are inclined to agree that a change of manager is needed, though director of football Mateu Alemany and technical secretary Ramon Planes have faith in Koeman.

Koeman, who has previously managed Premier League duo Southampton and Everton, has taken charge of 58 games at Barcelona, winning 36 times, drawing 10 matches and suffering 12 defeats.
