Jakub Brabec concedes that his Sparta Prague side were lucky that they only lost 2-1 to Villarreal in the Europa League.

Sparta Prague defender Jakub Brabec has admitted that his side were fortunate to lose by only a 2-1 margin away at Villarreal this evening.

The hosting Spaniards could only convert two of their 25 shots on goal in the opening leg of the Europa League quarter-final tie, while Brabec netted what could turn out to be a crucial away goal for Sparta.

However, the goalscorer has conceded that the Czechs could have had little complaint if their deficit were much greater.

"Villarreal confirmed their quality tonight. We could have conceded more goals," he told reporters.

The two sides will meet again in Prague for the second leg next Thursday.
