Sevilla captain Coke admits that his team fell short of the required standard in Sunday's 2016 Copa del Rey final against Barcelona.

Sevilla captain Coke has admitted that his team 'did not do enough' to deserve to overcome Barcelona in the 2016 Copa del Rey final on Sunday night.

Barcelona were forced to play the whole of the second period with 10 men after Javier Mascherano was sent off late in the first period, but Sevilla could not make the most of their numerical advantage.

Ultimately, extra-time goals from Jordi Alba and Neymar secured a 28th Copa crown for Barcelona, while Sevilla finished the match with nine men following red cards for Ever Banega and Daniel Carrico.

"We needed more tranquillity when we had numerical superiority. We had some chances, but the turnovers [in possession] hurt us. They weren't better than us at 11 v 11," Coke told reporters.

"In the end, they took the lead from an isolated phase of play and we could do nothing about it. We came forward and physically we were good. The game was tied at 11 v 11, and when they had 10 we had the ball, but we didn't know what to do [with it]."

Sevilla boss Unai Emery is reportedly set to begin talks with Everton over the next week.
