Juventus are reportedly considering terminating Paul Pogba's contract as the French midfielder continues to struggle with perennial injury problems.

Juventus are reportedly considering terminating Paul Pogba's contract at the club amid the Frenchman's continued injury problems.

The 29-year-old rejoined the Old Lady on a free transfer for the second time in the summer, having left Manchester United upon the expiration of his contract.

Pogba signed a four-year deal with Massimiliano Allegri's side, but he is yet to make a competitive appearance this season, having experienced a torrid time with injuries.

The France international firstly suffered a serious knee injury during a pre-season friendly against Mexican side Chivas in July, forcing him to miss the World Cup as he recovered from that torn meniscus.

Having stepped up his recovery over the winter months, Pogba finally made a matchday squad for Juventus' shock defeat to Monza on January 29, where he was an unused substitute in that 2-0 loss.

However, it has since been confirmed that the midfielder has suffered a fresh setback, thus delaying his return to action even further in a bitter blow for both club and player.

Apparently growing increasingly frustrated with Pogba's time in the treatment room, the Daily Mail claims that Juve could go as far as terminating his contract in the near future.

The Bianconeri could also attempt to sell the injury-hit midfielder, with a move to MLS not beyond the realm of possibility after a "diplomatic rupture" between Pogba and Juve.

The report adds that Pogba has "destroyed the harmony" in the dressing room due to his course of treatment, initially refusing surgery in the hope of playing at the 2022 World Cup.

The ex-Man United man eventually went under the knife, but Juventus are supposedly pointing the finger at his treatment plan for his recent niggles and setbacks.

With Pogba signing a £7m-a-year deal upon his return to Turin, a "furious" Juventus are considering cutting ties with the player altogether, after which they could potentially try to reinforce their midfield with the signing of Lazio's Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.

Pogba, whose second spell at Man United was also bedevilled by physical problems, previously recorded 34 goals and 40 assists in 178 games for Juventus during a splendid spell under Allegri.

The Frenchman won four Serie A titles between 2012 and 2016 and also helped the Bianconeri reach the final of the 2014-15 Champions League, where they were beaten 3-1 by Barcelona, before his £93.2m return to Old Trafford.

Juventus were recently hit with a 15-point deduction by the Italian Football Federation for alleged financial irregularities and false accounting, dropping them down to 13th in the Serie A table.

As a result, a number of the Old Lady's most prized assets are being linked with moves elsewhere in 2023, namely Dusan Vlahovic and Federico Chiesa.
