Madrid, Milan, London are all the top footballing cities in Europe. But there is probably no city like London, because there are six clubs in the Greater Metropolitan area playing in the country's top football tiers – Arsenal, Chelsea, Fulham, Tottenham, West Ham, and Crystal Palace. In the 2020-21 season, 16 clubs featured in the six top tiers.

Of course, Arsenal, Tottenham, and Chelsea are more successful than the others. Together, they have got 80 plus EPL titles and many European competitions. But the other top teams also have enviable records. Fulham's is the oldest team around the city, while Chelsea became professional before anybody else. Chelsea also won the UEFA Champions League title before any other team. This happened in 2012.

There is always hot rivalry and raging debate between sports fans, obviously, but statistically, no London football club has been more successful than Arsenal. Chelsea comes a close second.

Outside London, Liverpool and Manchester United are both very successful. Overall, they are the most successful football clubs in England.
