Celtic are reportedly prepared to trigger the £1m release clause in Chris Gunter's Reading contract as the Wales defender continues to impress at Euro 2016.

Celtic have reportedly expressed an interest in signing Reading defender Chris Gunter following the Welshman's displays for his nation at Euro 2016.

The 26-year-old has been a key member of Chris Coleman's side in France and provided the cross for Sam Vokes's goal in the 3-1 quarter-final win against Belgium.

According to the Daily Mail, Brendan Rodgers is tempted to trigger Gunter's £1m release clause following his nation's progress at the Euros, as well as receiving glowing reports from Chris Davies, who left Reading to join Celtic as assistant in May.

Gunter is set to earn his 73rd cap for the Dragons in Wednesday's semi-final against Portugal.
