Hull City boss Steve Bruce confirms that his club want to sign Wales forward Hal Robson-Kanu in this summer's transfer window.

Hull City boss Steve Bruce has confirmed that his club want to sign Wales forward Hal Robson-Kanu.

Robson-Kanu is available on a free transfer this summer after running down his contract with Reading, and it is understood that the 27-year-old is not short of interest following his performances for Wales at Euro 2016.

On Friday, it was claimed that Hull had joined the likes of Swansea City, Everton and Galatasaray in the race to sign the forward, who netted twice for his country during their run to the semi-finals of the European Championships.

Bruce has now revealed that the Tigers are keen on completing a deal for Robson-Kanu, although the 55-year-old has conceded that his team face "competition" in this summer's transfer window.

"We are booked in for talks with him and to see him in the next few days," Bruce told BBC Sport. "Do we intend to offer him a deal? Yes. I think Hal is a good age, has had a sort of re-birth if you like, of playing through the middle, because before that he has played wide most of the time.

"He is big, strong, powerful, quick and somebody who runs the other way, in football terms. I know we have got competition, so let's see what we can do."

Robson-Kanu scored five times in 35 appearances for Reading during the 2015-16 campaign.
