Zenit St Petersburg striker Hulk will reportedly become the latest high-profile player to move to the Chinese Super League for an Asian record transfer fee of £41.5m.

Zenit St Petersburg striker Hulk is reportedly on the verge of a record £41.5m move to Chinese Super League side Shanghai SIPG.

The 29-year-old is expected to undergo a medical at the club on Wednesday ahead of a move that would eclipse the Asian transfer record of £38.4m which Jiangsu Suning paid for Alex Teixeira earlier this year.

Hulk would become the latest high-profile player to make the switch to the burgeoning league, with £199.5m being splashed during their February transfer window.

Shanghai, who are currently managed by former England boss Sven-Goran Eriksson and have Asamoah Gyan amongst their squad, finished as runners-up in the Super League last season.

Meanwhile, another former England manager Roy Hodgson has been linked with a move to the Chinese Super League following his resignation from the Three Lions.
