Germany took on Italy in the quarter-finals of Euro 2016 on Saturday night in Bordeaux.
Both teams had half-chances in a tight first period, but the pair headed down the tunnel level at 0-0.
The world champions made the breakthrough in the 65th minute when Mesut Ozil fired home from close range.
Italy were level in the 78th minute from a Leonardo Bonucci penalty, however, and that was how normal time finished as the third quarter-final of the 2016 European Championships headed for extra-time and ultimately penalties.
Seven players missed in what was a topsy-turvy shootout, but it was Germany that came through 6-5 to book their spot in the semi-finals of the European Championships.
