England bowler James Anderson is reportedly in danger of missing the first Test against Pakistan next month because of a shoulder injury.

The 33-year-old, who become the world's top-ranked bowler during England's series win over Sri Lanka this summer, is reported to have suffered a stress fracture to his right shoulder blade.

The England and Wales Cricket Board has confirmed that Anderson will not be fit to feature in Lancashire's County Championship match against Nottinghamshire on July 3.

The bowler's exclusion from his county commitments could affect his position in the England team as the four-Test series against Pakistan gets underway on July 14.
