Ryad Boudebouz, Rodrigue Ninga give Montpellier victory over Bastia

Two second-half goals give Montpellier a 2-0 victory over Bastia in Ligue 1.

Montpellier have beaten Bastia 2-0 in Ligue 1, with Ryad Boudebouz scoring against his former club.

Bastia had the better of the opening stages but shots from Julian Palmieri and Floyd Ayite were blocked by the Montpellier defence.

Ayite was Bastia's best outlet but was unable to hit the target with four attempts before half time.

Jean Deza's long-range effort was saved by Bastia goalkeeper Jean-Louis Leca as the teams went in level at half time.

Bastia continued to enjoy the territorial advantage after the break but it was Montpellier who broke the deadlock when Boudebouz found the bottom-left corner from 10 yards.

Rodrigue Ninga added a second with two minutes to spare when he volleyed into the net from Hilton's corner.
