Real Madrid president Florentino Perez rules out a Bernabeu return for Cristiano Ronaldo, whose Juventus contract expires in 2022.

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has ruled out the possibility of the La Liga champions re-signing Cristiano Ronaldo from Juventus this summer.

The five-time Ballon d'Or winner is due to become a free agent in less than 18 months' time, and he has been linked with sensational returns to both Real Madrid and Manchester United in recent weeks.

However, with Los Blancos reported to be staring at a debt of £900m, Perez - also chairman of the highly controversial European Super League - is adamant that Ronaldo will not don the white jersey next season.

Speaking to El Chiringuito, the 74-year-old said: "Cristiano Ronaldo will not come back to Real Madrid.

"It does not makes sense, he has a contract with Juventus. I love him a lot, he has given us a lot."

Juve chief Fabio Paratici had recently affirmed that Ronaldo would not be leaving the club this summer, although there are not thought to be any talks over an extension in the pipeline.

The 36-year-old has bagged 25 goals in 27 Serie A games this season for the Old Lady, who recently signed up to be one of the 12 founder members of the European Super League.
