Premier League predictions gameweek six: Ryan Meaney of New Rules vs. Sports Mole
Sports Mole takes on Ryan Meaney of New Rules for a Premier League predictions challenge in gameweek six of the 2023-24 season.

The North London derby headlines gameweek six of the Premier League season as Arsenal host Tottenham Hotspur with both sides having taken 13 points from a possible 15 during unbeaten starts to the campaign.

Manchester City are the only team that can better that return, with the so-far perfect champions hosting Nottingham Forest on Saturday as they look to make it six wins from six.

The other remaining unbeaten team, Liverpool, take on West Ham United at Anfield on a bumper Sunday which sees five games take place, including Chelsea and Newcastle United also in action.

On Saturday, Manchester United will visit winless Burnley hoping to recover from a run of three successive defeats in all competitions.

Each gameweek, Sports Mole is taking on a famous musician or band in a prediction competition, and this week it is the turn of Chelsea fan Ryan Meaney from the British-Irish pop trio New Rules.

Ryan Meaney Q&A

New Rules promo shot 2

How did you come to support Chelsea and what are your favourite memories from your time as a fan?

"My favourite player as an Irish kid playing as a winger was Damien Duff. I fell in love with watching Chelsea initially because of him and Arjen Robben on the wings.

"Apart from the Champions League final wins against Bayern and Man City, my favourite memory is us beating Liverpool 3-1 at Anfield in 2009. Two Branislav Ivanovic headers. A 10-year-old me bravely (stupidly) wore blue in the home end and got a lovely mix of abuse from scousers and love from the Chelsea team warming up. Deco and Lamps even gave us a wave!"

Who have been your favourite five players for your club? (Historically or currently)

1. Damien Duff
2. Eden Hazard
3. Frank Lampard
4. Michael Essien
5. Tiago Silva

What's going on with the band at the moment?

"We've got a headline show in London on October 24 off the back of our latest releases. And there might even be one more out before the show happens! We're also trying to write an 'All I Want For Christmas' so we're rich forever! We'll see how that goes."

"Check out New Rules' latest release 'NOPE!', streaming now on all platforms."
