Robin van Persie will return to Old Trafford as Manchester United are grouped with Fenerbahce in the Europa League.

Manchester United will come face to face with their former player Robin van Persie after the club were placed alongside Fenerbahce in the Europa League group-stage draw.

Van Persie left Old Trafford for the Turkish club in the summer of 2015 after spending three years at United, where he scored 30 goals in the 2012-13 campaign to help the team win the Premier League title.

The Dutchman, who previously spent eight years at Arsenal, has been less prolific in Turkey, but he ended the recent campaign with 16 goals to his name.

As well as Fenerbahce, United will take on Feyenoord - another of Van Persie's former clubs - and Ukrainian side Zorya Luhansk in Group A.

Meanwhile, Southampton face Serie A heavyweights Inter Milan in Group K, as well as Sparta Prague and Hapoel Beer-Sheva.

Ireland Premier Division side Dundalk face plenty of travelling as they have drawn Zenit St Petersburg, AZ Alkmaar and Maccabi Tel-Aviv in Group D.

West Ham United missed out on a place in the draw after they were beaten 2-1 on aggregate by Astra Giurgiu, who booted the Hammers out of the competition last season.
