England captain Alastair Cook will return to the squad in Bangladesh today after attending the birth of his second daughter.

England captain Alastair Cook will return to the squad in Bangladesh after attending the birth of his second daughter.

According to PA, the 31-year-old will rejoin his teammates today ahead of the first Test of the series, which gets underway in Chittagong on Thursday.

Cook missed both of England's practice matches, but he has already been out in Bangladesh having spent a few days with the one-day squad in an attempt to acclimatise.

The batsman has hit eight centuries at an average of above 60 in Asia.
