Sports Mole looks at which teams Premier League leaders Manchester City could be drawn against in the quarter-finals of the Champions League.

Manchester City's quest for Champions League glory will continue in April, after they secured safe passage through to the quarter-finals for the fifth successive season.

After finishing top of Group A at the end of last year, the Citizens cruised to a 5-0 aggregate victory over Sporting Lisbon in the last 16, with all five goals scored in the first leg in Portugal.

While Pep Guardiola's men will be aware of Liverpool closing in on the Premier League summit, all eyes will now be on Friday's draw, and City could face any of the other seven teams remaining in the hat.

A potential two-legged showdown with Jurgen Klopp's side could take place in the last eight, while they could also face current European and world champions Chelsea, who beat them 1-0 in the final last season.

Arguably the two biggest clubs outside of England who City could face are Real Madrid and Bayern Munich, the former beating Paris Saint-Germain over two legs, while the latter cruised to an 8-2 aggregate win over Red Bull Salzburg.

Hopes of a Manchester derby quarter-final were quashed when Atletico Madrid came out on top against Manchester United, and Diego Simeone's side could soon prepare for another two-legged tie against North-West opposition.

Guardiola's men could face another Portuguese opponent in the form of Benfica, who secured a surprise 3-2 aggregate win over Ajax in the last 16, or La Liga outfit Villarreal, who stunned Juventus with a 4-1 aggregate triumph – these two clubs arguably represent the easiest draw on paper for the Citizens.

The quarter-final draw will take place at UEFA's Nyon headquarters at 11am GMT on Friday, March 18.

Once the quarter-final draw has concluded, teams will then discover their paths for the semi-finals, meaning tomorrow's draw will be the last of this season's competition.

The first legs of the quarter-final ties are scheduled to take place on April 5 and 6, with the return fixtures a week later on April 12 and 13.
