Bayern Munich's Brazilian-born defender Rafinha would be an asset to the German national team, according to his club teammate Thomas Muller.

Thomas Muller has said that Bayern Munich teammate Rafinha would be 'a good option' for Germany's national team at Euro 2016.

Rafinha, who was born in Londrina, Brazil, has represented his South American country in two friendlies, but rejected a call-up for a competitive match last month.

The right-back underwent his German citizenship test last week and if he passes, would be free to represent his adopted country at next summer's European Championships.

"With his qualities on and off the pitch he's always an option," Muller told AZ when questioned on a possible call-up for the 30-year-old defender.

Rafinha represented Schalke 04 between 2005 and 2010, before joining Bayern Munich in 2011 after one season in Italy with Genoa.

Ronaldo celebrates scoring in the World Cup final for Brazil against Germany on June 30, 2002.
