Former Real Madrid full-back Roberto Carlos reveals that he is in talks to join Zinedine Zidane's set-up and claims that he could bring Neymar to the club from Barcelona.

Former Brazil international Roberto Carlos has revealed that he is in talks with Zinedine Zidane to become involved with the backroom staff at Real Madrid.

Zidane was appointed as manager of Los Blancos last week and got his reign off to a flying start with a 5-0 drubbing of Deportivo La Coruna in his debut first-team managerial outing.

Gareth Bale netted a hat-trick in that match, and Carlos believes that Zidane can continue to improve the Welshman, in addition to claiming that he might be able to bring compatriot and Barcelona attacker Neymar to the Bernabeu.

"I had a meeting with Real Madrid about my future with the club. Soon I will know how I can collaborate with Zidane's Madrid," Carlos told Marca.

"I can take [Neymar] to Real Madrid. He's very young. I am sure next year he will finish even higher in the Ballon d'Or.

"Zidane is a leader in the dressing room. His personality is going to make him very successful. A coach has to befriend his players and [Rafael] Benitez struggled to form a bond with them. Zidane can do whatever he wants with [Bale] and maybe even turn him into a candidate for the Ballon d'Or."

Neymar finished third in the 2015 Ballon d'Or voting, behind Barca teammate Lionel Messi and Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo.
