England coach Eddie Jones: 'James Haskell not playing well enough to make squad'

England head coach Eddie Jones explains why James Haskell was left out of his squad for November's fixtures.

England head coach Eddie Jones has explained why James Haskell was omitted from his squad for the Autumn Internationals.

The 57-year-old said that the Wasps flanker is "not playing well enough" for the national team, but refused to rule out calling him up in the future.

"I went up and had a chat to him on Saturday," Sky Sports News quotes Jones as saying. "We had a good chat and at the moment he's just not playing well enough but the door's not shut on him.

"We know he's a great player and has been a great servant for English rugby, nearly 80 caps and I'm sure he'll regain his form."

Haskell has 75 caps for England and featured for the British and Irish Lions during their 2017 summer tour.

England have Tests against Argentina, Australia and Samoa lined up for November.
