New Manchester United defender Eric Bailly believes that he will be well suited to the Premier League and is hoping to win silverware at Old Trafford.

New Manchester United defender Eric Bailly has set his sights on helping the club to win silverware.

The 22-year-old became the first signing of the Jose Mourinho era earlier today, putting pen to paper on a four-year deal at Old Trafford with the option of a further two years.

Bailly joins United from Villarreal, but he believes that he will be well suited to the different challenges that will face him in the Premier League.

"English football is different to Spanish football - it is more physical and direct - but I always thought it would suit my style," he told MUTV.

"Things have moved quickly but most importantly, it is down to hard work. It has been fast progress but I want to progress more and hope that involves winning trophies as well.

"It is a real confidence boost that a manager with so much experience trusted me to make me his first signing."

The deal bringing Bailly to Old Trafford is thought to be worth up to £30m.
