Result: Tara Moore misses out in Nottingham quarter-finals

Tara Moore's run at the Nottingham Open comes to an end after she lost in straight sets to Zheng Saisai at the quarter-final stage.

Tara Moore has suffered a straight-sets defeat to Zheng Saisai in the last eight of the Nottingham Open.

The British number four had come through qualifying to reach the quarter-finals of a WTA event for the first time but she fell to a 6-2 6-4 defeat to the world number 86.

Moore struggled with her first serve during the opening set and her Chinese opponent made her pay as she secured two breaks of serve to move closer to the last four.

Great Britain's last representative improved during the second set against a player who defeated Johanna Konta on Thursday, but one more break of serve was enough for Zheng to claim the win.
