Daniel Berger opens up three-shot lead at St Jude Classic

Daniel Berger registers a second-round 64 to move three shots clear of the field at the St Jude Classic.

Daniel Berger has moved into a commanding position at the St Jude Classic after he recorded a second-round 64.

The world number 46 is yet to register a win on the PGA Tour but six birdies during a faultless round on Friday has given the American a three-shot advantage over the field.

First-round leader Tom Hoge is in second spot, while the trio of Brooks Koepka, Dustin Johnson and Phil Johnson are a shot further adrift in a tie for third place.

Welshman Jamie Donaldson has dropped down to 47th position after he backed up a 66 on Thursday with a disappointing round of 74, but he is the only British player to make the cut after Graeme McDowell missed out.
