David de Gea confirms that he wants to stay at Manchester United to play under new boss Jose Mourinho, despite reports of a Real Madrid move.

David de Gea has insisted that he wants to "win more titles" at Manchester United under new manager Jose Mourinho.

The Spaniard was on the verge of joining Real Madrid last summer, but the move fell through after paperwork was not completed in time.

De Gea performed a U-turn by signing a new contract at Old Trafford, but rumours that Real will swoop again for the shot-stopper persist.

According to the 25-year-old, though, he is looking ahead to life at United under Mourinho, who was named as Louis van Gaal's successor last week.

"Talk about Jose Mourinho and you're talking about a winner," De Gea told Marca. "Winning is United's, Jose's and my philosophy. We can make a great team and I welcome him.

"I've got three more years on my contract with United and the desire to win more titles here. When it comes to United, if you don't win everything, it's not good enough. This FA Cup is important for the club, it's important for the fans, and it's an important step towards winning major titles again."

De Gea, who joined the Red Devils from Atletico Madrid in 2011, is now focusing on Spain's Euro 2016 campaign in France.
