The departure of Louis van Gaal and the imminent arrival of Jose Mourinho reportedly convinces goalkeeper David de Gea to stay at Manchester United.

David de Gea has reportedly decided that his immediate future lies at Manchester United.

There had been suggestions recently that the goalkeeper would look to leave Old Trafford if Louis van Gaal remained the club's manager for the 2016-17 season.

Real Madrid was said to be De Gea's preferred destination, having seen a move to the Bernabeu fall through last September.

However, the Manchester Evening News claims that the news of Van Gaal's sacking last night, coupled with Jose Mourinho's supposed imminent arrival, has convinced the 25-year-old to focus on his commitments with the Red Devils.

The report adds that De Gea is determined to build up a better relationship with Mourinho to the one that he had with Van Gaal.
