Wednesday's Manchester United transfer talk news roundup: Christian Eriksen, Eric Bailly, Pau Torres

Sports Mole rounds up the latest transfer talk for Manchester United on Wednesday, December 2.

A frustrating summer transfer window has now closed with Manchester United having missed out on a number of their top targets, including Jadon Sancho.

The Red Devils were busy on deadline day, though, bringing in Edinson Cavani, Alex Telles and Facundo Pellistri, in addition to agreeing a deal to sign Amad Traore in January. Attention will now switch to other business they may do when the window reopens in the winter.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up the latest news on possible comings and goings from Old Trafford.

Wednesday morning's Manchester United transfer talk news roundup:

Christian Eriksen 'makes decision on Inter Milan future amid Manchester United talk'

Christian Eriksen will reportedly seek a move away from Inter Milan during the January transfer window.

The 28-year-old has struggled to make his mark for Inter since arriving from Tottenham Hotspur earlier this year and has been told that he can leave San Siro at the start of 2021.

Manchester United continue to be credited with an interest in the Denmark international, with the Red Devils thought to be considering making an approach in the middle of the campaign.

According to Calciomercato, Eriksen has decided that he wants to leave Antonio Conte's side in January, having only played nine minutes of football in Inter's last five matches in all competitions.

United have allegedly been told that they will have to come up with a bid of £27m in order to sign the playmaker, who still has three and a half years left to run on his contract in Milan.

Eriksen has managed just four goals and three assists in 35 outings for his current club.

Manchester United 'want Eric Bailly, Pau Torres swap'

Manchester United are reportedly open to agreeing a part-exchange deal involving Eric Bailly and Villarreal defender Pau Torres.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been increasingly reliant on Victor Lindelof and Harry Maguire over the past 12 months, partly due to injury issues further down the pecking order.

Bailly has made just four appearances during 2020-21, taking the Ivory Coast international to 15 outings for the calendar year.

In a bid to solve their problems in the middle of defence, TEAMtalk claims that United want to swap Bailly with Villarreal's Torres.

The 26-year-old earned his move to Old Trafford in 2016 through his performances for the Yellow Submarine, a route which Torres has taken to become a target for a number of top European clubs.

Unwilling to pay in excess of £60m for the Spaniard, United are hoping that they can lower any fee with the inclusion of Bailly in any proposal.
