Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola reveals that striker Gabriel Jesus is close to a return to the first team.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has revealed that striker Gabriel Jesus is close to a return to the first team.

The Brazilian, who has not featured since City's 0-0 draw with Crystal Palace in December, could make an appearance when the Premier League leaders face Wigan Athletic in the FA Cup on Monday night.

Guardiola said that left-back Benjamin Mendy, who has been out since October, is also due to return soon.

"For the next game at Wigan, they will be ready," the Spaniard told reporters at a press conference. "Now except [Benjamin] Mendy we have all our squad and we can use [them] in all competitions."

City made an impressive start to their Champions League last-16 tie with Basel on Tuesday evening, and will return to the Etihad Stadium with four away goals.
