Derby County have made a bid of £7m for Sheffield Wednesday striker Fernando Forestieri, according to reports.

The 26-year-old was the Owls' top scorer last season with 15 Championship goals and struck the winner against Aston Villa in the club's 2016-17 opener.

Forestieri was previously at Watford for three seasons, the first of them on loan, and has played in the top divisions in Italy and Spain.

Derby opened their season with a goalless draw against Brighton & Hove Albion in Nigel Pearson's first game in charge of the Rams.
