Sheffield Wednesday defender Tom Lees, 25, puts pen to paper on a new five-year contract at Hillsborough.

Sheffield Wednesday defender Tom Lees has signed a new five-year contract at the Championship club.

The 25-year-old joined the Owls from Leeds United in 2014 and has made a total of 92 appearances, scoring twice.

Several clubs, including Premier League sides Burnley and Sunderland, were understood to have been keeping close tabs on Lees in recent weeks.

"I'm really happy here," Lees is quoted as saying by BBC Sport. "Like any player, I want to play in the Premier League. I am convinced we can achieve these ambitions together."

Lees played 42 times last season as Wednesday reached the playoff final, which they lost to Hull City.
