Defending champion Nicola Adams books her spot in the 2016 Olympic flyweight final with a semi-final victory over China's Ren Cancan.

Defending champion Nicola Adams has booked her spot in the 2016 Olympic flyweight final after overcoming China's experienced campaigner Ren Cancan in the semi-finals on Thursday.

Cancan, who led the head-to-head 3-2 entering the semi-final, claimed the opening round across the board after managing to hold off the jab from the current Olympic champion.

However, Adams responded in style, claiming each of the next three rounds 10-9 to ensure that she would have the chance to add to her gold medal from the London Games in 2012.

Adams, 33, will take on France's Sarah Ourahmoune in the final on Saturday night. Meanwhile, it is bronze for Cancan, who lost to Adams in the final of the same weight four years ago.
