Granada's record signing Jose Angulo tests positive for cocaine, less than one month after joining the Spanish side from Ecuadorian football.

Granada's record signing Jose Angulo has tested positive for cocaine.

The 21-year-old, whose Granada contract was suspended last Friday when the failed drug test came to light, made the move to Spain from Ecuadorian side Independiente del Valle on a five-year contract in the summer.

However, according to EFE, the Spanish side are in the process of cancelling his five-year contract after it was confirmed that the forward had failed the drug test which was undertaken during the last Copa Libertadores.

It is understood that the La Liga side will not have to pay Independiente del Valle the pre-agreed sum of £4m as Angulo's transfer has now been voided.
